The head coach, Mr. Shehryar, Coach Hashim and the rest have maintained an environment which is safe and fun for kids. The teaching style is great: easy-to-follow steps for the kids to see and implement the techniques.
Apart from self-defence and BJJ, the coaches teach how to stay disciplined, grounded and have respect for the sport and for the people teaching it and practising it.
This place is 100 percent recommended for kids, especially for girls.
Cleanliness is a major thing here, very well maintained (10 points for that).
There is seating for parents to stay and watch the kids.
Parking is ample in front of the building and opposite it.
PS: They have adult classes as well for almost every age group.

The lessons are engaging, well-structured, and age-appropriate. Beyond teaching excellent jiu-jitsu, the lessons emphasize discipline, respect, confidence, perseverance, and other life skills that are just as valuable off the mats as they are on them.
The dojo is always clean, organized, and welcoming, and it’s clear that safety and professionalism are a top priority. The kids genuinely enjoy coming to class while learning in a structured environment.
As parents, we couldn’t be happier with our decision to enroll our son. We honestly have nothing negative to say and would highly recommend Mikado Jiu Jitsu to any family looking for outstanding martial arts instruction for their children.

Mikado Jiu Jitsu is more than jiu-jitsu — it’s a place where kids grow into confident, calm, resilient humans. Coach Sherri and the team (Coach Hashim, Coach Amjad, Coach Spider) are all amazing — shaping not just the skills that the children are learning but their mindset for life. The space is super clean, and the friendships that form here are wonderful to watch. Highly recommended.

The coaches are very professional and attentive to every child, helping them through their struggles and helping them become braver, more focused and resilient from training to training. I can’t thank them enough for how my child enjoys every class and becomes more confident and strong.

What an amazing experience visiting and rolling at Mikado Jiu Jitsu. I have been practising BJJ for more than 11 years and earned my black belt. During that time I have visited many academies.
This was, no question, one of the best. Professor takes his time and first makes sure all his students are safe. He gets everyone involved and is very hands-on. The place is very clean.
He has his finger on the pulse of his academy, especially in making sure all the females are comfortable while learning a life-saving skill. Professor has also created a family atmosphere.
Would highly recommend it to anyone. OSS!

The instructors are highly skilled and passionate about the art of jiu-jitsu. They take the time to explain techniques clearly and provide individual feedback, ensuring that everyone progresses at their own pace. I appreciate how they emphasize not just the physical aspects of jiu-jitsu, but also the mental discipline and respect that come with it.
The gym itself is well-maintained, with clean facilities and plenty of space for training. The variety of classes offered caters to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners, which keeps things interesting and challenging. Overall, I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking to learn jiu-jitsu or improve their skills in a positive and encouraging environment!
